Well not exactly my first blog about games that I indulge myself in. I removed the previous one due to some personal reasons. But here I am again, I decide to keep a record of my progress of the games that I play.
Mostly it is to track the Sims 3 game that I carried over from Sims series (Sims to Sims 2 onwards)
The bad habit of mine is that I tend to reset everything from scratch in the new game. In Sims 2 these families that I have here have progressed to a certain stage yet I'm redoing it all over again.
Perhaps it is the lure of the better graphical engine, I do admit the world looks much more beautiful rendered in the new game engine and the open neighbourhood concept is really interesting. One new feature is that the town / families that you aren't playing progresses even if you are not controlling them.
This is good as in it seems continuous and world does not static or an isolated instance. Unfortunately this does not work as well for me even though I like the feature since I tend to create a multitude of Sim families for them to interact with each other. I'm not alone in this however, many others have been clamouring EA to allow story progression to be toggled between each household instead of globally across the game world.
Regrettably, EA is unable to do this... despite the fact that it should have been a feature that shipped with the game. Till date they still have not managed to do this which of course left quite a bit of Simmers like myself rather disappointed.
In the end, many Simmers end up installing 3rd Party Mods which alters the game to a certain degree. And like most add-ons these Mods needs to be kept updated to the latest version of Sims 3 game itself.
Inconvenient but still I want to play this game and if thats what is necessary I guess its something Simmers like me have to live with.
