COX: The White Knight - part II

IN SERVICE OF THE EMPEROR


The Powers Division welcomed Carleox with open arms and assigned him to take on rogue elements that threaten the peace and stability of Praetoria. Eager to receive aid in recovering his memories, Carleox carried out his duty with zeal.

His actions earned the adoration of the citizens and the respect of his peers. Amongst these was Rambling Man, a meta-human with the ability to unleash Sonic attacks whom he befriended.

Yet he felt frustrated as months passed by and the psychic sessions with the seers did nothing to trigger his lost memories.
Dr Chandra mysteriously vanished and it wasn't long before Carleox realize how oppressive Cole's regime is. While there are some within the Loyalist that genuinely cared for the people, many more amongst the PPD and Powers Division abused their authority.


WAVERING ALLEGIANCES

Unwilling to serve a tyrant, Carleox briefly aided the Resistance in several missions and learnt that they are not so different. Some fought for freedom while others care not the collateral damage they did or were insane terrorists.

Trusting neither faction, Carleox did only what he thought was right by helping the common people. Eventually he realize it was impossible as Praetoria is too closely interwined with the powers that be and those who oppose them.

However Carleox's actions had caught up to him. Both Resistance and Powers Division had become suspicious of his involvement and decided to take him out.

TRI-SECTION

Arriving on-site to investigate a case, Carleox & Rambling Man was surprised to find Dr Chandra whom vanished months ago. She revealed that she was working for the Resistance and came to warn them of the danger they are in. But it was too late the Resistance has already arrived.

The duo fought bravely but was outnumbered and was not able to help as the Resistance gunned down Dr Chandrar for her betrayal. The Powers Division who had been waiting, swooped in immediately at this moment.

Carleox had earlier learnt of a facility which house a portal between Praetoria and a place called Primal Earth. With both factions after them and in their weakened state, escaping to Primal Earth was their only choice.

With the Powers Division already laying in wait. The two had to fight their way towards the portal before it was shut-down. Leaping through the portal, Carleox thought they had made it only to discover that Rambling Man's injuries was too severe and the mediporter disabled.

As he comforted his dying friend, Carleox swore he will one day return to Praetoria to exact justice when he became much stronger.


Trip down the Memory Lane
Carleox's short stay in Praetoria did brought back some memories. It all started when he was in the sewers fighting ghouls. He somehow recalled that he had done something similar. Except that the ghouls he fought were actually the living dead and were even more repugnant that the ones he encountered in Praetoria. Unfortunately he remembered nothing else and this information was too fragmented to be of any use to him.

Bloodblade plans his next move as he observes his target from high vantage point

Background

A refugee from another world, little is known about Bloodblade except that he somehow appeared in Praetoria only recently. He was later discovered to have fallen in with the Crusaders, a sub-faction within the Resistance who believes the end justifies the means.

Bloodblade's skills and his ruthlessness made him the perfect new recruit for the Cruaders and he soon became part of the team known as the Powerbreakers. An elite unit formed to hunt down the Cole's Powers Division by using any means necessary.

Bloodblade reveled in his work, the stalking & the chase, the hunt which finally lead up to the kill itself. The act of toppling those in power and look on the faces of those he humbled brought him great satisfaction. He didn't care about the Resistance's goals or the collateral damages he caused. Although it seems like there is more to Bloodblade than just spreading chaos, only time will ultimately reveal his goals.

POWERS

The one thing that was clear was that Bloodblade is certainly no human being. Below are the list of special powers he possess. It is unknown if these powers are innate to all members of his species or if he acquired them.

Dark Vision. Possessing superior vision, Bloodblade is able to see perfectly clear in extremely low-light conditions. This allows him to move at ease in darkness while others struggle to find their way around.

Shadow Walk. Bloodblade also possesses the ability to blend into the shadows, although not completely invisible he is able to slip past most security right under their noses.

Magic User. The extent of his magical abilities are unknown though it is observed that Bloodblade is able to teleport short distances and conjure light using only single syllabus verbal commands.

Supernatural Agility Surpassing the reflexes of a train gymnast, Bloodblade possess the speed and balance to weave in and out of battle. Leaving his assailants attacking the empty space where he once stood.


ABILITIES

Dual Swords Expert. A natural sleight of hand and possessing superior hand-eye coordination. Bloodblade is an expert with bladed weapons, his attacks are lightning fast and precise. The flurry of flashing steel often leaves his targets confused and opened to his relentless assaults.

Master of Anatomy. Bloodblade possess vast knowledge of the humaniod anatomy right down to even the most minute details. The pulses, body movement & breathing rhythm. He knows exactly when and where to strike to cause the most traumatic damage.

PARAPHERNALIA

Longsword & Gladius
Sharp and balanced. The pair of blades are well-crafted but nothing extraordinary sets them apart from most other bladed weapons.

Light Gladiator Armor
Bloodblade's armor consisting only of Spaulders, Gauntlets and Sabatons offers limited protection capable of withstanding only glancing blows. It seems intentionally designed not to encumber the wearer.

COX: Mr Duke part II

CLIMB TO FAME

Duke wasted no time and signed up immediately. At first taking on the task given by Praetor White, tackling small time criminals, destroyers and eventually the resistance. Duke swelled with pride and looked forward to every new mission.

While some of the missions were more mundane, most put Duke in combat situation. The fighting involved gave Duke an adrenaline rush and he relished every second of it. Especially after crushing his enemies and feeling victorious.

As his notoriety climbed higher, he was noticed by the Praetors and given a chance to become a Top Dog. Defeating all the challengers at the induction trial, he finally claimed his position as one of them. The newfound fame also brought Duke scores of beautiful women who would do anything for their heroes out of adoration. Duke could certainly get used to this new lifestyle.

FAME AT ALL COST

The fame came with a pricetag and Duke was attacked in his own home without his power armor on. Though he managed to fend off the assailant, the assasination attempt almost cost him his life. Duke later learnt that other Powers Division members had also been targetted, though only he survived.

Duke was joined by another Top Dog named Blue Vambrace and other powers division members to investigate the case. Together they discovered that the Resistance group known as the Powerbreakers. The Powerbreakers are a newly formed extremist cell group composed of superpowered beings aiming to dismantle Cole's regime by hunting down his enforcers. Namely the Powers Division.

Eventually the team split up to follow separate leads. While Duke was hot on the trail for the ring leader. His team members were walking into a trap set by the Powerbreakers. Wanting all the fame to himself, he ignored their plea for aid and continued his pursuit of the ring leader.

Defeating the ringleader, Duke emerged victorious and claimed all the glory to himself. Amongst fighting for glory, crushing the resistance and bedding his beautiful female fans. He was kept busy until Provost Marchand contacted him about Cole's plan for Primal Earth.

Duke considered his options. He could either pave the way for Cole's invasion forces and eventually rise to become a Praetor or struck out on his own and rival Cole's powers. Excited by the possibilities and challenges ahead, Duke accepted the assignment to venture into Primal Earth.
