CAW - Part 3

WHATS IN A NAME?

Supposingly panoramic view of the world.

Coming up with name took like an eternity too. In the end I had to settle for Virloong. Which is ripped off from Geelong, a city in the state of Victoria in Australia. Progress has been slow on this map. I doubt that it will be finished anytime soon. All screenshots are taken in EIG. Short for Edit in Game.

Another panoramic view. From the western mountain ranges.

A lot of the areas in the map are largely inspired from my 2010 trip to Australia. The farms, forests & coastal cliffs along the great ocean road. The suburb in Ocean Grove down by the edge of Barwon Heads. The rest of it from dreams or of my own imagination.

The semi-finished world ends up a bit different as how I would imagine it to be. There were alot that I didn't initially considered. Sculpting of the playable area, lots placement & roads system.
Despite having a plan, I mostly went with the flow while working on the world.

Road from the city leading up to the old pier

It will probably do me a whole lot more good to plan it out in greater detail. Listing out the number of lots by a certain size & designating districts / sub districts.

A view of South Island & the bridge that links to the mainland.

South island was originally designated as a rich / upper class district. It initially contained 9 lots but was eventually reduced to 2 lots to help create the illusion of the seamless land. Although I doubt it will work as the minimal requirement is at least 2 chunk boundaries away.
